GATHER
Community Hub
Gather reflects the need for people to feel loved and to experience a sense of belonging. Loneliness is a terrible thing for anyone to experience. We seek to offer many different opportunities for everyone in our community to belong and to find help.

The DCF Cafe
The cafe opens three days a week as a commercial cafe.
It is a ‘Not for Profit’, all funds generated in the cafe are used for the benefit of the local community.
Our aim is to provide a warm, welcoming, safe space for anyone to come and enjoy.
We have a quiet lounge area with panoramic windows looking over Loch Dunvegan and out towards MacLeod's Tables. There is a rear dining area, and a family area that has a children’s soft play castle and various activities.
We offer an excellent range of refreshments, local baking and homemade soups, all at reasonable prices.
There is a special discounted menu on offer each day for locals and we run a ‘pay it forward’ scheme that is very popular. Through this scheme you can leave a donation, and we will pass this on to one of our customers as a gift from you.

Although we can get very busy at times our staff are always keen to chat and offer a friendly listening ear. One of our staff is a trained social worker who we employ specifically to work with people in need within the cafe and our local community.

There are a number of local groups that meet in the cafe. Ask in the cafe for details.

YOUTH CAFE
Once a month on a Monday evening we open the cafe in an evening for a youth cafe.

PRIVATE FUNCTIONS
When the cafe is not operating commercially it is used throughout the week for a variety of other charities and organisations.

FOOD BANK AND COMMUNITY FRIDGE
We host a food bank cabinet and a community fridge outside the cafe which is restocked regularly. If you are in need, please help yourself. If we have unsold baking or cakes, these are placed in the community fridge after we close for you to help yourself.

SWAP SHOP
Throughout the year we hold swap shops in the cafe. Rather than throwing things away or letting them gather dust in a corner somewhere, why not bring in your good quality items and allow others to help themselves
